History

The Camm Agricultural Group (CAG) formally began operating in 1994 however the Camm family’s association and involvement with the Australia beef industry goes back four generations.

The current group structure was developed when founders David and Judith (dec) Camm supported by their children started the current business model outside of their extended family agricultural operations.

The business began through building an operating model across the beef cattle supply chain production steps of breeding, backgrounding and finishing. The business would build diversity and resilience to market movements in addition to weather patterns through positioning. This was achieved through multiple geographic locations and multi market exit opportunities.

Wonga Plains Feedlot was commenced by the Camm Family in 1972, making it one of the oldest continual feeding operations in Australia. Today the award winning 9,100 SCU Wonga Plains is recognised for industry leadership and its strong cattle performance.
